Yesterday was my turning point. I signed up with Weight Watchers and purchased the monthly pass. My mind is finally in the right place, that I can do this. It has been over 4 years since I stopped going to WW, and after getting weighed in, I am thoroughly disgusted with myself. I cannot believe I let myself gain back all the weight I had lost, but also packed on another 10lbs to keep them company. So, hopefully, it is all down from here. I turn 40 in February, and I do not want to start my 40s feeling and looking like I do right now.
Dinner was at my in-laws, so that is always a challenge. But, I was strong enough to refuse dessert, so that was my victory for today.
I have remembered that the key to doing well on WW is planning. Having the right foods in the kitchen (which right now, we do not! I desperately need to go grocery shopping.) and making my breakfast and lunch the night before. So, last night I cooked to get me through breakfast and lunch the rest of the week. I made Steel Cut Oatmeal for breakfast. (oatmeal with dried cranberries, vanilla, and cinnamon.) And, Quinoa for lunch (like I mentioned I need to grocery shop, so it just has mango, cilantro, salt, vinegar, and oil.) I also tried making Kale Chips (my first try at that) but I didn't cook them long enough, so they will need to go back in the oven. They were easy to make, just tossed with olive oil, and sprinkled with salt and chili powder. My snack points today was actually my bites and tastes that I had while cooking. I'm not sure if I had a whole serving, but I am one to err on the side of caution.
Here's to a healthy today! Thanks to planning, it has started off well. More on that tomorrow. For reference, I plan to post daily about the previous day. And, in the future I will be sure to share recipes.
